Youth Congress Rohingya (YCR), a youth advocacy organisation comprised of 16 Rohingya youth based in Cox’s Bazar, conducted comprehensive consultations across 33 camps in Cox’s Bazar, including Bhasan Char. We engaged with diverse groups of community based organisations and community leaders, including majis, head majis, religious scholars, youth activists, and women leaders in September 2024. We also spoke with newly arrived Rohingya from Myanmar, all who have entered Bangladesh between the last week of July 2024 to end of September 2024. YCR has used these direct Rohingya insights to generate urgent recommendations that should be implemented by the interim Government of Bangladesh in order to ensure that Rohingya have access to their fundamental Refugee rights guaranteed to them under customary international law and so that they can live through displacement with dignity.
