Seeing the increasing persecution of Rohingya by the Government of Bangladesh in the refugee camps, and a lack of accountability from the international/humanitarian community, YCR decided that they themselves needed to do something to improve the situation.

At great risk to themselves, YCR researchers conducted incredible, rigorous research to expose severe abuses by the Gov of Bangladesh and the Police (#APBn) in the camps.

This report is groundbreaking in the sense that the report is representative of Rohingya perspectives in the camps, and is a community-led effort to resist oppression from the government and demand change. YCR offers a roadmap for moving forward with 39 recommendations for the Government of Bangladesh, the international community, and humanitarian organisations.

On a side note, this research is yet another example of the high quality work that #refugee organisations are capable of and is also an excellent example of a decolonised approach to research and humanitarian aid provision.
